Woodlands Dental Practice

Dr Ahmed Alshafi joined Woodlands Dental Practice in 2016, bringing with him a wide range of skills and experience to the team. In addition to being a keen general family dentist, Dr Ahmed Alshafi receives referrals for advanced treatments including dental implants and root canal therapy.

Dr Ahmed Alshafi also offers sedation, invisible systems for tooth straightening, as well as cosmetic smile makeovers and facial aesthetics. Dr Ahmed Alshafi is a member of the of Cosmetic Dentists.

Dr Ahmed Alshafi qualified at Guy’s, King’s & , Kings College London in 2006, where he met his wife Maryam who is also a dental surgeon at Woodlands Dental Practice. Dr Ahmed Alshafi went on to serve a vocational training post with the whilst practising locally in Maidenhead. Subsequently he practiced in , Buckinghamshire, where he has been established for nine years. He has also practiced in , Surrey and , gaining vast experience across a range of dental disciplines.

As an advocate of minimal intervention dental therapy, Dr Ahmed Alshafi has focused his practice on providing high quality dental care. He is renowned for his relaxed and friendly manner, putting even the most nervous of patients at ease.

As a father of two young children, with another on the way, Dr Ahmed Alshafi has a holistic approach to caring for the oral health of the whole family. In his spare time Ahmed enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, voluntary work, trekking, cycling, painting and sculpting.

Robert qualified from in 1977 and has worked at Woodlands Dental Practice since 1987. He is a fantastic general practitioner who enjoys all aspects of dentistry.

Robert is married to Judith, and they have three lovely children together. Their son is currently at university and their two daughters are in employment. In his spare time he likes to play golf, go skiing, read and mess about with cars. Robert once qualified as a ski instructor.

Dental HygienistClaire qualified from in 2012 with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Therapy. On completion of the course she was presented with four awards for her achievements – the Dentsply Clinical Dental Hygiene Prize ‘The Dental Care Professional’, the Dental Therapy Prize, the British Society for Restorative Dentistry Undergraduate Prize and the Professionalism Prize.

Claire joined Woodlands in 2013 and has built a strong rapport with the patients. She has a friendly and sympathetic approach, which will put even the most nervous of patients at ease. In addition to hygiene work Claire can also carry out a number of dental treatments including small fillings, impressions and tooth whitening.

Outside of dentistry Claire likes to keep fit with athletic sports, she is a keen runner and is currently training for half marathons. She also enjoys skiing holidays. Claire is currently planning her wedding to her partner Chris.

Claire runs a regular blog that includes useful tips and information about dental hygiene and therapy.

Maryam qualified at Guy’s, King’s & , Kings College London in 2006. She did a vocational training post in community dentistry and then worked as a senior house officer at Guy’s Hospital in the Oral Surgery and Restorative Dentistry departments. She worked alongside the ’s top dental consultants, and also helped in the teaching of undergraduate dental students.

Maryam enjoys general dentistry, and is very good at treating nervous patients. She can offer sedation as well as facial aesthetics including anti-wrinkle treatments and dermal fillers.

Maryam works part-time, and has two children. In her spare time Maryam enjoys travelling, Zumba and badminton. Maryam is currently on maternity leave.
