Graduated from the Medical Academy in Poznan in 1980. In their Institute of Gynaecology and Obstetrics she was awarded two specialisation degrees – 1st in 1984, and four years later – the 2nd. Afterwards, for over 23 years she worked in the Child and Mother Hospital in Kalisz, where she was responsible, among other duties, for sections of the labour ward, pregnancy pathology, surgical gynaecology and conservative gynaecology. In the meantime, from 1984 she ran a private gynaecology practice. In April 2007, Dr Krystyna Tajchman opened a private practice in London. One year later, together with her husband, in the London borough of Greenwich they opened Green Surgery, and after one more year, a new branch in Manchester was opened. Dr Tajchman has been working at the Green Surgery ever since, and under her management the surgery has become the largest Polish medical centre in the UK.

Completed her studies at the Medical Academy in Lódz in 1984. She completed specialist training in paediatrics in 1992. Since 1996 as a Pulmonology specialist, she has been running a Pulmonology Clinic for Children. The extension of the scope of her activities was her work at Allergology Clinic at the Immunology, Rheumatology and Allergology Clinic of the Medical University in Lódz. She was granted the title of Allergology Specialist in 2004. In 2003, in response to a rapidly growing number of allergy and bronchial asthma sufferers she organised and managed an Allergology and Pulmonology clinic for children and adults. She started working at the Green Surgery persuaded by patients living in the UK who visited her clinic in Poland.

Completed a postgraduate course in Psychology, clinical specialisation, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Wroclaw and was awarded a title of Master of Arts. Then, she began a four-year course at the Cracow Psychotherapy Centre which she successfully completed and was awarded a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist Diploma. Ms. Zalewska gained her psychotherapy experience in Wroclaw, in the Children and Young People Psychiatric Department and at the Clinical University Hospital. She also worked as a school psychologist, where her job was mainly focused on individual work with pupils on their emotional and social difficulties and work with parents regarding behavioural problems.
