Dr Abdul HaleemDentist
BDS MGDS RCPS Abdul graduated from Glasgow University in 1990 and in 1996 he was one of the youngest dentists ever to achieve the MGDS postgraduate qualification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow. He was involved with the clinical teaching of undergraduate students from 1991-1998 at the Glasgow Dental School and has since then continued to be extensively involved with training and mentoring recently qualified dentists. Abdul joined the practice in 1991 and, after a brief period in the mid-1990s when he worked in other Glasgow practices, returned to become a partner in 1997. In 2001, he became the youngest Dental Practice Advisor in Scotland for what is now NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board. This post involves Abdul visiting and advising other dental practices on current guidelines and recommendations, mentoring dentists who may be struggling with running their own practices and helping NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board to develop better links and services with the local population. Abdul is also a member of the National Dental Advisory Committee which is an advisory group comprising of the Chief Dental Officer, the Deans(Heads) of the Scottish Dental schools, education chiefs and others that reports directly to the Minister for Health at Scottish Government. Between 1998 and 2000, Abdul also undertook orthodontic training at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley and since then has developed a special interest in restorative and cosmetic dentistry including the use of tooth-coloured fillings and porcelain veneers and crowns; all of which are involved in "smile makeovers" and "smile design". More recently Abdul undertook further postgraduate training in the exciting field of dental implantology whereby missing teeth can be replaced by titanium "roots" supporting natural looking crowns and bridges. He has been mentored by prominent national figures in implantology with whom he retains close links. He is also a current examiner for the National Examination Board for Dental Nurses.

Dr Simon KiddDentist
BDS MJDF RCS Eng Simon is an Associate Dental Surgeon working full-time within the team. Prior to joining the practice in August 2007, he spent a number of years in the Glasgow Dental Hospital treating patients in various clinics. He has settled well in the practice and has taken over a well established group of patients. Although originally from Ayrshire, he finds working in Paisley both satisfying and highly enjoyable and now also sees the majority of patients joining under the National Health Service. Originally, Simon joined the practice under a one year contract. He had impressed the partners with his confidence and technical ability and has built a good rapport with our staff and patients. Consequently, he was invited to continue practising at Complete Dentistry and to the partners delight he agreed to join the practice on a permanent basis. Over the past years Simon has been involved in numerous dental organisations, broadening his experience and influencing the training of new dentists as a representative on British Dental Association committees acting as both Treasurer and Conference Convener. The conferences, held in Glasgow, served to provide students with a forum to discuss concerns over the current changes in NHS dentistry in the UK and to put these concerns forward to the governing dental bodies. Amongst his various training posts, Simon also spent some time carrying out research in the fields of Oral Medicine and Orthodontics in Christchurch, New Zealand, and has been able to apply the knowledge gained to the care of his patients. Simon attained membership to the Royal College of Surgeons in 2010 attaining a joint qualification from the Faculty of Dental Surgeons and the Faculty of General Dental Practice. This has broadened the training he has received and allows him to further his skills over the coming years. He hopes to further his qualifications in the fields of Oral Surgery and Anxiety Management.
