Platt & Common

(University of Glasgow 1996) GDC 71621 John is a partner and co-owner of Platt & Common alongside his wife Jennifer. He is originally from County Durham and trained at Glasgow Dental School, graduating in 1996. He then spent his formative years in Clydebank and the Hillfoots practices of MacFarlane and Brodie. John's father's family is originally from Bannockburn and so it was an easy decision to make the move to the practice in 1999. He was an associate at the practice until the sad death of owner Douglas Herd in 2010. This meant the practice went through a major transition. John and Jennifer purchased the practice and started a programme of investment which saw an increase in the number of surgeries and dentists and the provision of new decontamination facilities.

BDS (University of Glasgow 1996) GDC 71624 Jennifer is a partner and co-owner of Platt & Common alongside her husband John. She is originally from Yorkshire, graduating from Glasgow Dental School in 1996. Her first position was at Clark & Watson in Falkirk and then at Bannockburn. When an associate position came up at Platt & Common in late 2000 it seemed the right decision to join her husband John at the practice. After a break to have their son, Jennifer returned to the practice in 2010 and is now primarily the practice manager.

BDS (University of Glasgow 2008) GDC 152253 Craig qualified from Glasgow Dental Hospital in 2008. He spent his first year as a vocational trainee under the wing of previous practice principal, Douglas Herd. He stayed on part time at Platt and Common during 2009 and became a full time associate in 2010. Like several other associates at Platt and Common, Craig lives in Glasgow. He plays guitar whether in the practice or at home, and has a history of playing in a few bands,who have played gigs in Stirling and beyond. He also enjoys running, badminton and squash.

BDS (University of Glasgow) 2011

Taelor qualified at Dundee Dental School in 2013. She completed her vocational training year at the practice and has stayed to become a full time associate with us.
