BDS MSc(ULond) LDS D.Orth M.OrthRCS (Eng) FDSRCS (Ed)Allan Jones basic dental training was at Guys Hospital where he graduated as a dentist in 1983. On leaving Guys he went into General Dental Practice working as an associate in a busy NHS family practice. In 1985 he joined the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Greenwich District Hospital as a House Officer and two years later he was appointed as a Registrar in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. After this post he went on to Kings College School of Medicine and Dentistry to embark on a three year postgraduate orthodontic training programme. In 1989 he was awarded a Master of Science degree in Orthodontics from the University of London and a diploma in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. In 1990 he gained his membership in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and was awarded the prestigious Fellowship of Dental Surgery Gold Medal. Following qualification he became a lecturer at Kings College Hospital and undertook a year of research and teaching. In 1992 he was appointed Senior Registrar in Orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Hospital and The Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street, London and also at Mayday University Hospital, Croydon. In 1995 he was appointed as a Consultant at Kingston Hospital, Queen Marys University Hospital, Roehampton and holds a honorary Consultant and Senior Lecturer post at the Eastman Dental Institute, London. He is a member of the British and European Orthodontic Societies, the British Dental Association, an International Member of the American Association of Orthodontists and also a member of the World Federation of Orthodontists. His orthodontic interests are very varied and include functional appliances as well as many of the multi-disciplinary aspects of orthodontics.

BDS (Wales) MSc (Lond) FDSRCS (Edin) M.Orth (Edin) F.Orth (Edin)After qualifying from the University of Wales, College of Medicine in 1996, Rachel undertook two maxillofacial senior house officer positions and a paediatric position before embarking on a three year orthodontic training programme at Guys Hospital, London. Whilst at Guys she was awarded the "Geoffrey Fletcher Prize" in orthodontics which enabled her to undertake a research project in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Rachel qualified in orthodontics in 2003 and obtained a Senior Registrar position at Kingston Hospital to pursue her consultant training. During this two year training period Rachel specialised in treating the more complex clinical cases including those patients with facial deformities and clefts. Rachel currently works as a Consultant at Kingston Hospital and also as a Specialist Orthodontic practitioner in Surrey and Sussex. She was recently awarded the prestigious "British Orthodontic Society Maurice Berman prize". This prize is awarded annually to a member of the British Orthodontic Society in the UK who shows clinical excellence in the treatment of a multidisciplinary case. During her training she was voted into the position of Chairman of the British Orthodontic Societys Training Grades Group and has sat on various orthodontic committees over the past three years representing the views of her fellow colleagues. Rachel particularly enjoys her committee work and has recently taken up a role on the British Orthodontic Societys conference committee in charge of media and public relations. Her clinical interests are in aesthetic orthodontics for adults and children, self-ligating appliances and lingual orthodontics. In her spare time, Rachel is a keen sports woman and has played hockey at international level in the past and continues to play at club level. She is also a keen skier and enjoys foreign travel.

Clare Bull qualified in 1991 as a Dental Surgery Nurse and has been registered with the General Dental Council since January 2008. She has enjoyed working with Mr Jones at Fairoak for over 10 years. Clares duties include Patient Care and working closely with both Mr Jones and Dr Bradford with their Orthodontic duties.
